13.3.20 This week we have been making birds nests then testing whether they can protect an egg by dropping them from a 2m height! We have also been busy relocating our bug hotel and we were super excited to find a family of frogs hiding behind it! There’s also been some amazing environmental art going on this week and fun playing mud cafes too!
6.3.20 Hapa Zome is a Japanese word meaning 'leaf dye' and is given to the process of transferring the natural pigments from leaves and flowers onto fabric or paper to create a botanical image 🔨🍃🌼
28.2.20 This week we have been creating a whole range of different bird feeders. We learned all sorts of facts about birds through playing RSPB Top Trumps. We looked at what types of birds visit our Forest School site and what food is available to them. We all thought they would appreciate extra help in getting their food so they can survive through this cold season. There’s been plenty of squelching in mud and jumping in puddles too this week!
21.02.20 First session for five new groups this week. We have recapped the rules, boundaries and hazards of Forest School. We’ve enjoyed building stick towers and stick people and we have played games and practiced mindfulness. Gardening Club has restarted too. A brilliant week all round!
