We had a wonderful day celebrating our school turn 50-years old. on Friday 15th June 2018.
The day started off with a memorable church service led by Father Jerry, at St Margaret’s, and we sung hymns and heard readings which were used in the opening service of the school 50 years ago.
It was a real pleasure to see the delight and surprise on all the children’s faces as they returned to school for a huge party and a visit from the circus! This event was enjoyed equally by staff and children.
To end the celebrations we have buried a time capsule this week which the children have put together containing many memories and hopefully one day this will be discovered and our memories will be once again be enjoyed.
The children in Red and Indigo Classes, along with Mrs Hornby, have been working really hard recently, planning and preparing for our annual Mini Market.
Their hard work certainly paid off this morning and the event was a huge success! A grand total of £312 was raised for Ugandaid and a lot of fun was had by all of the children and staff!
Mrs Hornby took our children in Year 5 to the Baptist Church this week to take part in “Rewind to Easter”, a presentation and workshop aimed at children of all faiths, explaining why Easter is such an important festival in the Christian year.
This week we had the pleasure of inviting the Rhema Theatre Company into school to perform their version of the Easter Story during our Collective Worship.
Following this some children had the opportunity to work with the company in smaller workshops. It was a really lovely experience for all our children and staff to enjoy.
We welcomed the NSPCC into our school today and delivered their “Speak Out, Stay Safe” assembly to share information with our children about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries. It was a really worthwhile and empowering session for both pupils and teachers.
The achievement of pupils at KS1 and KS2 is well above the local Trafford and National figures 2017.
Low progress outcomes reflect the very high achievements of our pupils at KS1.
We are delighted to share with you the report from our recent SIAMS inspection.
Everyone is delighted with the news and feedback from this inspection.
We are very pleased to announce that Altrincham C.E Aided Primary School is position 15 out of the 250 top state primary schools in England. We hold first position in the North West of England in The Sunday Times top school table published this weekend.
The schools are ranked by the aggregated average scale scores (334) achieved by children in reading, grammar and maths.
This is fantastic news for everyone, and a brilliant achievement by the pupils, teaching and support staff.

School dinner money for the first half of the Autumn Term (for year groups 3-6) is now due. Please send in cash or a cheque made payable to Trafford Borough Council for the amount below:

The Year 6 leavers disco will be held on Friday 14th July at 6:30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and join the fun. There will be lots going on including DJ, chocolate tombola, refreshments.

Mrs Hoolihan would just like to say a huge “Thank-you” to all the children and parents of our school for the kind gifts she received when she retired. She is settling into retirement and it has been lovely seeing her back at school as a Grandparent joining in with school events.

We are really pleased to let you know that we have now launched our new school meal menus which have been agreed with Trafford.
These menus will roll over a 3-week period. You can view these menus under the school meal section of the website under the “School” tab.
The application process to receive your 30-hour Nursery Funding is now available. You can apply for this via the following websites www.gov.uk or www.trafford.gov.uk.
Once you are in receipt of you eligibility code please ensure that you email or pass this to the school office so that we can make the necessary adjustments.
The deadline is fast approaching to send in all your Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers.

What an amazing start to the summer term with the launch of our new KS1 Drama Club.
The children had lots of fun playing games and exploring some familiar and not-so-familiar characters from well-known stories. Everyone said they were looking forward to coming back next week!

Goodbye Mrs Hoolihan!
We say a very fond farewell to Mrs Hoolihan at the end of this term after 22-years working at our school. Mrs Hoolihan has been a very important part of our school as a parent, teaching assistant and now Grandparent! We will all miss her but we wish her all the very best in her retirement.
We would like to wish you all a really Happy Easter and a relaxing break. We will finish at 2:00pm on Friday 31st March and we welcome the children back into school on Tuesday 18th April.
We are really sorry to see Wendy our long standing crossing patrol lady retire after many years of keeping our children safe crossing at the Cresta Court hotel. We would like to wish Wendy all the very best in her retirement. Wendy will be replaced by a gentleman who will start on Thursday 16th March 2017.

We will be holding an “Own Clothes Day” on Friday to raise valuable funds for Irene, the student we sponsor at the Nile Vocational Institute in Jinja, Uganda. Please see attached letter for more details.

School closes at 2:00pm on Wednesday 21st Dec 2016 and we reopen on Tuesday 3rd Jan 2017. Please note that Nursery closes at Midday on Wed 21st Dec and that there is NO afternoon session on the last day.
After 10-years at our school Mrs Hardy is retiring. Mrs Hardy has played a huge part in school life and has supported many children over the years she has been with us. Her dedication and hard work will be missed by all the children and staff at our school. We wish her all the very best in her retirement.
On Tuesday 26th July we bid a fond farewell to all our Year 6 children. We wish them all the very best as they start the next chapter in their lives. You can see some pictures below of their final few days.
With Effect from September 2016 the school will be introducing a new P.E Kit for all the children. Reception children will be wearing this new kit and we would like to see the other children start to wear this as and when their current P.E Kit needs replacing.

On Monday 27th June, four children from Year 5 visited St Ambrose College to take part in a Primary Mathematics Challenge. They completed a Maths Relay, raced around in a Treasure Hunt, tested their brains in the Problem Zone, and figured out some fiendish shape puzzles in the Kinaesthetic Room. The entire group said how much fun they had – they loved the challenges, and described their day as amazing, friendly and exciting. The team worked together really well to come 15th of the 27 schools taking part, and were fantastic ambassadors for the school.
